Deputy Director-General Management Services
Lily Djima is a highly accomplished education professional with 28 years’ experience in the Education services delivery space. She served as a teacher and Assistant headmistress at St. Louis Senior High School and Principal at St. Micheals Technical Institute. She was later appointed as the Deputy Director -General in charge of Management Services in 2022 at the Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training Service (GTVET).
She holds a Master’s Degree in Education with focus on Guidance and Counseling from the University of Cape Coast and continues to contribute to the advancement of TVET delivery in Ghana through her strategic vision, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
As the Deputy Director- General (Management Services) at Ghana TVET Service, she plays a pivotal role in shaping and implementing strategies for the development of Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Ghana. With a strong background in education management, she has successfully led various initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality and relevance of TVET programs in the country. She has been instrumental in fostering collaborations with industry partners, educational institutions, and government agencies to strengthen the alignment between skills development and industry demands.
She assists the Director-General in overseeing and managing various administrative functions of the organization. These functions typically include areas such as Human Resources, Finance, Research Innovation Monitoring and Evaluation, Administration and organizational development. She works closely with Divisional heads to ensure effective and efficient management of resources, compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and the implementation of strategic initiatives.
She possesses a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the TVET sector and has been actively involved in policy formulation and implementation. She has experience in effective Leadership in Management Administration, Financial Management, Environmental and Social Safeguards, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, and leadership, Organizational Management and effectiveness.
Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, driving positive change and inspiring teams to achieve their goals. Her passion for empowering individuals through skills development has been evident in her work, resulting in the successful implementation of numerous TVET initiatives that have positively impacted the lives of thousands of students and workers.
As a disciplinarian, her guiding principle has always been to “train a child the way he should go so that when he is old will not depart from it.”
