Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe
Director-General
Engr. Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe is the Acting Director-General of the Ghana TVET Service, providing overall strategic leadership and direction for the coordination, regulation, and advancement of Technical and Vocational Education and Training across the country. In this role, he oversees national TVET operations, institutional performance, infrastructure development, policy implementation, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure that Ghana’s TVET system remains responsive, competitive, and aligned with national development priorities.
Prior to his appointment as Acting Director-General, Engr. Dr. Adzroe served as the Director of the Infrastructure, Planning, and Development (IPD) Division of the Service. In that capacity, he provided technical and administrative leadership for the planning, development, and maintenance of TVET infrastructure nationwide. He worked closely with the Director-General through the Deputy Director-General (Operations) to ensure that facilities across TVET institutions met quality, safety, and operational standards.
He currently serves as the Acting Director-General of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Service (TVETS)
Before joining the Ghana TVET Service, Engr. Dr. Adzroe held several key leadership positions in higher education and faith-based institutional administration. He was the Director of Physical Development and Estate Management at the Evangelical Presbyterian University College, Ho, where he oversaw the management and development of all physical facilities, including buildings, transport, water systems, grounds, civil works, and ICT infrastructure.
He also served at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Headquarters as Estates Manager and later as Infrastructure Programme Officer, advising the Synod Committee on land administration, property development, contract management, and new construction projects. His work contributed significantly to the Church’s infrastructural expansion and effective asset governance.
Engr. Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe brings to his role a strong blend of engineering expertise, administrative experience, and a passion for transforming Ghana’s TVET landscape. His leadership continues to support the Service’s mandate to deliver high-quality, skill-focused education that prepares learners for modern industry demands.
Engr. Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe’s professional career spans over two decades in senior management roles across research institutions, private tertiary education, and faith-based organisations. He brings a unique blend of expertise in the built environment and e-business technology, with strong competencies in construction, facilities management, project management, environmental sustainability, and ICT-enabled process transformation.
His work in the built environment covers the planning, development, and management of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and sustainability in institutional development. In addition, his expertise in e-business and ICT strategy focuses on the innovative application of digital technologies to improve business processes, enhance organisational efficiency, and modernise operations. He is particularly passionate about supporting microenterprises and SMEs within the Ghanaian construction industry to adopt e-business tools that improve competitiveness and operational performance.
Engr. Dr. Adzroe holds a Ph.D. in Construction Management (e-Business Technology Transfer) from the University of Salford, UK, where he also obtained an MSc in Information Technology (IT) Management in Construction.
He earlier earned a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Building Technology from Kumasi Technical University, Ghana.
He is a Professional Engineer (PE) of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Ghana, a licensed professional body under the Engineering Council of Ghana. He is also a Corporate Member/Builder (MGIOC) of the Ghana Institute of Construction, demonstrating both his technical depth and his commitment to upholding professional standards in the engineering and construction fields.
