FUNCTIONS OF THE DIVISION
The main responsibility of the division is to provide technical, administrative, and leadership direction for the effective and efficient performance of the infrastructure planning and development functions of the service.
In addition to its main responsibility, the division oversees the following, some of which are daily:
- Ensure infrastructure development planning for the service.
- Co-ordinate all infrastructure works for the service.
- Oversee the design and implementation of a master plan for the service.
- Ensure the acquisition, registration, and documentation of landed property.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of fixed asset registers for the service.
- Ensure environmental sustainability in the design of all physical infrastructure projects.
- Ensure the preparation of an annual work plan and budget for the division.
- Oversee infrastructure planning and environmental sustainability.
- Oversee building projects, renovations, and refurbishments.
- Oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the service.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the Facilities Management Manual.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the fixed asset register for the service.
- Oversee the maintenance and management of all moveable and immovable properties.
- Liaise with the Legal Unit on the acquisition of legal titles to the service’s properties.
- Oversee proper maintenance and management of all assets and equipment of the service.
- Oversee the development of procedures for the acquisition, valuation, control, identification, and maintenance of the assets of the service.
- Oversee proper sanitation, cleanliness, and maintenance of the service’s estates.
- Oversee the implementation of decisions on the allocation of offices, residential accommodation, and other facilities.
- Oversee the development of a system for the tenancy management activities of the service in collaboration with the Legal Unit.
- Oversee the preparation of estimates for repair work.
The Division ensures that accurate data on institutions' infrastructure are kept, and that maintenance and environmental sustainability issues are strictly complied with.
